Site Promotion
Site Promotion. Something that everyone wants, but doesn't know how to get. Obviously, if your reading this at the place that it was first placed, then you know that there are many ways to promote your site. Digging your own site it one way. At the very least, with this you have a back link to your site, which will increase Page Rank. Also, with having your site on Digg, you have a good chance of people coming to it (every one of my articles that have been digged have brought at least three percent more traffic to my blog). All other social bookmarking sites work the same as Digg. You, or someone else, will place your site there, and people will normally come to visit the site. But there are other ways to get traffic. If you have some money, you can pay for links on Google or Yahoo. Same goes for programs like Ad Words. The more money you have, the better chance you have of someone clicking on your link. Generally though, these are far from cost effective, and have little turn out (my last attempt at Ad Words brought maybe three people to my blog, therefore I find social bookmarking to be a better idea on this). No matter the type of site you are running, article submission can also bring you viewers. Works best for blogs, or sites that have a blog on them. That includes this site, as well as any of the article submission sites out there. This goes for RSS feeds as well. For blogs, there are many sites that can help you get ahead. As blogs are the new news source, people will find ways to get them out. Many hosts also will give you back links for sites that the host. Wordpress and Bloggin both do this for blogs hosted on their servers, this also goes for many of the free forum hosts out there. Now, getting your GREAT website out there for others to see is going to take some time, but it can be done.
